An ode to Vicki

The Bostock organic story was born out of a love for the land and the love an inspirational woman had for her boys.

The late Vicki Bostock loved the land and it was this certain piece of land in particular, which she fell in love with. Vicki’s Vineyard runs alongside the Bostock family home at Ngatarawa, positioned centrally within the Bridge Pa Triangle.

Vicki was committed to protecting the soils here for future generations. It was Vicki’s passion for this land and her desire for safe, natural food that provided the inspiration for this wine.

Johnny credits his late wife Vicki with igniting his passion for organics as she was so driven to ensure her family was eating safe, healthy food.

Vicki loved fine wine and food and enjoyed hosting family and friends. In her memory, the Bostock wine savours all that she loved about the land and the beautiful bounty it can produce.

organic
since 1996

In the early 1980s Johnny and Vicki Bostock were living on their Ngatarawa apple orchard, raising their three young boys, Ben, George and Tom. They both disliked the sprays and substances that were applied to the orchard, so the couple started looking for healthier and safer alternatives, converting their orchard to organic in 1996.

From this moment, the Bostock’s pioneered organic apple growing at scale in New Zealand, taking away artificial chemicals and synthetic fertilisers. Their organic business has grown through the decades to now include organic grape growing on the family land, which Vicki loved so much. Vicki’s Vineyard is currently in conversion to being certified organic.
